Chamberlain had already been talking with Wenger after getting permission from Southampton, they failed to agree a contract.
Former Portsmouth player and current coach, Mark Chamberlain, his father, was eager for his son to sign a contract with Arsenal back around the time Chamberlain failed to agree.
The English player did agree on a long-term contract and the deal is expected to be finalized today. The 6-month chase has come to end for Arsenal, but was it worth it? The move is actually not bad, preferably good and Wenger has already been saying the midfielder has "huge potential". So guessing from out side he'll play a lot this season but not everything, so maybe 3/4, surely in 2 years he'll be a player that plays every game possible.
His last season was great with Southampton in League One, he was promoted with the cluband scored 10 goals and setup 9 in 41 games for the Saints.
A story on Neymar is to come in the next week.
