Manchester United's very good midfielder Paul Scholes has just retired and Ferguson is looking for a replacement that will bring the Champions League title to Manchester. It did not take him long, as just today the title in the sport section of the sunday times was "United move in for Modric". Ferguson wants that title and will try to find the right midfielder. Modric came to Tottenham three years ago for £16.5 million from Dinamo Zagreb, his biggest reason was having the desire to play Champions League, well now he's not playing CL with Tottenham so he's looking for another club. That's good news for Ferguson of course, he looked at a lot of midfielders. Wesley Sneijder was one of them, but he earns almost as much money as Rooney and Modric only earns half as much. Those two reasons are very important, but quality is the most important, that's where the problem lies.
Modric is (for me) not amazing and definitely not the replacement for Scholes , he's never been an
amazing player and can't carry United to the CL title.
Park Chu-Young (Monaco)
For me he's just a player that's got quality, but nothing more. I think if it's more than £10 million that Tottenham want, United shouldn't offer that money. Modric has said:"I'm not thinking about that every hour and every minute", so doesn't want to go 100%.Tottenham was never good at transfers and chairman of Tottenham Levy wants to cut the roster so they won't transfer, still they wan to buy Park Chu-Young for £5.3 million and they want to buy 21 year-old, brazilian centre-forward Leandro Damiao, he plays for Inter Milan and Inter want £18 million for him, but Tottenham only want to pay £11 million for him. These (I bet you anything) players will be total flops since Tottenham have no idea which players to buy. For an
example Sandro who costed £14 million only played 19 times and van
de Vaart costed half as much and played almost 30 games.
Tottenham should buy players who play for amazing clubs but aren't in the spotlight or players who are amazing, but their teams aren't in the spotlight. Here is a list of a couple of players they could buy:
